Adult Faith Formation

There are a variety of options for adult learning and faith formation at St. Andrew the Apostle.  Parishioners may find a large variety of books to reflect on and deepen faith in our parish library.  Adults may also join our Wednesday morning scripture study group or join our Catholic Theology for Everybody program.

Sent to Promote Human Dignity for All  ~ Tuesday: January 10, 2012

The “Consistent Ethic of Life” at the heart of the Church teachings calls us to promote the dignity of all humans regardless of race, age, nationality, income or state of health.  Yet we live in a world that discriminates and clearly values some over others.  How do we teach our children and grandchildren to value the dignity of all humans?  How can we promote human dignity in small and large ways?  Come learn, discuss and discover how.

Sent to Build a Culture of Life  ~   Thursday: February 17, 2012

In  the letter The Gospel of Life  written in 1995, Pope John Paul II eloquently writes about  the value of all life and the dignity of the human person.   This session will help us explore this central teaching of our Church and discuss ways to live this teaching and build these values in our families and in our world.

Sent to Build Caring and Peaceable Families  ~  Tuesday: March 13,
2012

Charity and peace begin at home and it is often at home that we find “keeping the peace” most difficult.  This session will explore ways we can teach and build respect in our families and put into practice a commitment to nonviolence and the Christian challenge to love others.

Sent to Care for God’s Creation   ~   Thursday: April 12, 2012

We show our respect for the Creator by our stewardship of creation.  This session will explore teaching and practical ways each of us can respond to this call and invites us to pray, learn, assess, act and advocate.   Resources for all ages will be shared.
