Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Thanksgiving Food Drive provides several opportunities for families to assist.  You do not have to sign up for every event.  Select only those that work for you and your family. Staple fliers on bags – November  6th @ 4:00 – Teen Courtyard

Stapling the Food Drive flier onto the bags.
Takes approximately 60 minutes.
Please bring a stapler from home

Hand out grocery bags after a Mass November 12th or 13th. 

Meet at Northex entrance after communion.
Takes approximately 20 minutes.
When signing up, please select a mass for handing out bags and indicate how many people

Collection of Food Bags before Mass on November 19th   and 20th  .

Be at church 30 minutes before Mass begins to collect groceries as people arrive.
Meet in courtyard for assignment.
When signing up, please select a mass for collecting groceries and indicate how many people.

Loading the truck November 20th  @ 11:45 – ?

Arrive at St. Andrews at 11:45 to begin loading the truck with food.  After the 11:00 Mass we will form a line as people leave mass to finish loading the truck as a community.

Drive over to St. Martin de Porres and unload the truck.

St. Martin de Porres has a church festival scheduled this day, therefore we will not be assisting in the unloading of the truck at St. Martin de Porres this year.

This Thanksgiving, you can help us, help those in need in our community…

Supply a Thanksgiving Food Box
Please donate the following items to complete a food box for a family of 4-6. Please deliver completed boxes to St. Andrew’s Caring Ministries Office by Sunday, November 20th. With your generous donations and time, St. Andrew’s Caring Ministries will provide 40 cold Thanksgiving food boxes this year

  • 1- 12 lb – Frozen Turkey
  • 2- 15 oz can – Yams/Sweet Potato
  • 2- 15 oz can – Corn
  • 2- 15 oz can – Green Beans
  • 1 large can – Chicken Broth
  • 1 box – Instant Potatoes
  • 1- 15 oz can – Cranberries Sauce
  • 2 boxes – Stuffing Mix
  • 2 boxes – Macaroni & Cheese
  • 1- 8 oz can – Gravy Mix
  • 1- 2 Liter Beverage
  • 1- box – Cake Mix
  • 1- can Frosting
  • Fresh fruit
  • Paper towel

Feel free to get creative and add special touches with napkins,
tablecloths and Thanksgiving decorations!

*You can also donate $45 and we will do the shopping for a food box that serves 4-6 people.
Make checks payable to “St. Andrew’s Good Samaritans”. 
Food boxes will be given to families November 22-23.
