A child's safety is our responsibility, since they have been entrusted to us. For this reason we must continue to renew our commitment to prevent child abuse.
— Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted, July 2007
Called to Protect™ for Ministries (Foundation Class)
Clergy, parish and school employees, and ministry volunteers learn myths and facts about sexual abuse and sexual offenders. They learn warning signs to watch for in adults who may abuse, and how to identify children who may have been abused. They also learn specific steps to take in screening, guidelines for interaction, monitoring, training and responding.
