Meeting was preceded with the Chili-BOG Christmas Dinner – Members agreed this should become an annual event.

Meeting began at 7:00 PM with prayer and reflection.

Techniques to raise the visibility of ministries:

Ministry Round Table Issues

Baptism – Beth Berg; Fr. Joe has asked that the baptismal “interview†process be re-initiated.  This will require some training for the small staff of volunteers.

Marriage Preparation – David R.

• A recent wedding’s success was at risk when the wedding coordinator was sick with the flu – at the last moment.  This incident raises the issue that our wedding coordinators should have a backup plan to cover weddings if the coordinator is sick or incapacitated.  Perhaps a backup plan for presiders should also be devised?
• The following questions should be discussed in the future:  Should there be a pool of money set aside to defray wedding costs for people who cannot afford the modest fees?  Is it fair to ask the liturgical support, ministers, audio, and musicians to provide their services pro-bono?

Scripture Sharing – Tom Heyer; the provision of the “At Home with the Word†books was a wonderful surprise appreciated by the group’s members.  Thank you.

Newly Married Couples – James Wedell; the December meeting, first in almost a year, was a no-show and disappointing.  Efforts to advertise and get the word out to recently married couples in the community will happen in January 2007.

UNITAS – Kathy DiNolfi; Next class is at the end of January.  It’s full, with all sponsors and almost all presenters assigned.  David R. reported that the classes are larger in participating numbers than a year ago, and expects the growth to continue into the spring of 2007 as there is a recent surge in engaged couples contacting the church.
