Hello Families!
It is that time of the year where we gather our children and celebrate the Advent Season through the wonderful presentations they will offer parents and friends at our annual Extravaganza! We have this week to finish our rehearsals so that next week, December 4 and 5 at each session, the children from that assigned session will re-tell the story of our Advent and Christmas journey.
When you come to R.E. next week, December 4 or 5, you will accompany your child(ren) to the Hall. The children will sit with their class, and parents and friends will be invited to sit in our audience. PLEASE, do NOT “drop and dash” this week! Sadly in the past, we have had a few parents leave their child alone for this event. This is for all of us to enjoy, so plan on giving the time needed.
One of the special elements of this event is the refreshment table for after the performances. You are invited to bring a snack to share on the communal table. In the past we have had quite the selection of cookies and candy. We send the children (and adults) off on a sugar high! This year we would invite you to consider fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers, etc. instead of the cookies and candy we all love so much. (Just a thought from a few concerned parents.)
The December 4 and 5 session will be our last week of the semester. You will be taking home the Advent and Christmas lessons from your child’s workbooks today. (grades 1 – 5). It is your responsibility to fully cover the material with your children. IF your child’s teacher has not given you these lessons, please request them!
Please bring your children to church during the Advent and Christmas seasons. We will resume classes on January 15 and 16 for second semester.
Eucharist/Confirmation classes for eligible 3rd. graders begin January 27. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. THE FIRST SESSION IS REQUIRED IF YOU WILL BE EXPECTING TO CELEBRATE THIS YEAR. There will be NO MAKE-UP for the first session. Mark your calendars. This calendar has been posted since April of ’07, so this should be no surprise.

If you have not yet turned in your Confirmation registration paperwork, or your sponsor form is still out, get this in THIS WEEK, PLEASE. The paperwork was due November 1, 2007.
