Photography & Art Ministry
The Photography and Art Ministry is responsible for a written and visual history of our faith community. The pictures on the Narthex bulletin boards and picture packets are taken by the Photo Ministry. This ministry produces posters, displays and any other art projects that come up throughout the Liturgical year.
Parishioners who love to take pictures, to organize pictures, and create within the artistic realm are needed.
Photography Software
Irfanview, and it's plugins are the recommended (free) software for use for the MicroSoft Windows platform. It is a simple photo viewer/editor with basic 'batch' processing feature to aid in the renaming/resizing/reformatting of multiple files.
While this software is by no means mandatory, it is expected that all photographers follow the naming, size, and format conventions outlined below.
Photo Format Conventions
- File naming: Event_Name_MMM_DD_YYYY_####
- Example: "Confirmation_APR_17_2007"
- File Format: '.jpeg'
- File Size (Web): < 1.5 MB per file
- File Size (Backup): photographer preference
- Distibution: photographers are asked to burn their work to either a CD or DVD. The disk will have two folders 'Web' and 'Back Ups'. The Web folder will contain images less than 1.5 MB per file and the Back Up folder will have the full, un-edited versions of the images. Both folders will have files that adhere to the naming conventions outlined above.
